Yesterday, there was a conversation between Thea and her Daddy (with a few an interjection or two from Mom) about atoms and molecules and ions and protons and neutrons and quarks...... Yes. Really. Thea wanted to go to the library, but it was too late and it was already closed for the day.
This afternoon, Thea and her Daddy went off to the library and returned with books. I paid little attention.....Hey, I'm still recovering from the strep bug from hell, remember?
Late this afternoon, Thea and I were going to the grocery store to pick up a few items. AC Moore, an arts and crafts store, is in the same plaza. And the following conversation ensues:
T: Mommy, do you think we could stop by AC Moore? I need to get some supplies to do a project. It's in one of my books. Well, it's not *in* the book, but the idea is in the book.
M: Sure, honey. What do you need to get?
T: Some little balls. The styrofoam kind. And maybe a little styrofoam tray kind of thing. And toothpicks, but we can get those in the grocery store.
So off we go and get her supplies. Look what she made. All I did was break the sticks (we ended up with wooden skewers) and print the letters. I am such a proud Mommy.
Forgive the crap (and cat hair) all over the hassock...... click to embiggen!
